Wear jeweler to make the cheap prom dress look dressy and svelte

The Prom night is a much awaited event.  The management of the School wants it to be a formal event so that teens can make a symbolic entry into adulthood.  While one wants to look unique and gorgeous, a teen knows that spending a lot for something which will hardly be worn again is a waste. Even younger sisters or cousins don’t want to wear hand-me-downs, especially when photographs are going to be up in the same school corridors. The answer is a cheap prom dress that would make the wearer look elegant and yet be comfortable enough to dance the night away. Cheap prom dress

Go to garage sales in a different town

Spread the word around amongst friends and relatives out of town that you are looking for a cheap prom dress.  When there is a garage sale or any discount sale in their local mall, ask them if you can come over. You can buy a good quality second hand prom dress from a yard sale in another town. This way you avoid wearing what your seniors have worn to their prom.

Attend an end of season sale

Most stores like to clear their existing stock before the change of season. Sometimes the garments maybe a little shop soiled or have been damaged.  The dresses could range from day wear to evening wear.  Don’t limit your choice to only looking at full length formal wear.  Separates can be mixed and matched, especially a silk blouson jacket over a tea length column dress. Or a layered chiffon skirt can look formal, paired with a studded bodice that can be attached on.

Get online

There are many sites that offer prom dresses at a discount.  This again could be a clearance sale of unsold items. Check sizing charts and costs. Do they have a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied?   Of course, one can never be too careful when it comes to payment online. See to it that it is a secure site and protects card transactions.

Search wardrobe

Maybe there are evening dresses which your mother or sister do not wear.  These can be modified or dressed up with a bit of dexterity.  Reduce hems, make them asymmetrical, or add to the hem by layering the skirt or dress.  Add ruffles, or lace at the arms or neck. Cinch the waist with a trendy belt, and wear jeweler to make the cheap prom dress look dressy and svelte.
